The flavor of Bandoeng’22 is a tribute to Indonesia. Pandan leaves, cherished for their vibrant aroma, color, and taste, combined with spices that recall the richness of the “Rempah” in our kitchen. Yet the process behind the product reflects the Netherlands, layered, precise, and refined, with a relentless focus on quality.
Tribute to Dutch distilling
The Dutch have a long history in creating spirits and liqueurs. Schiedam, home of our production partner Herman Jansen Beverages (since 1777), has been the beating heart of Dutch distilling for centuries. From jenever and brandewijn to gin and liqueurs, this small city became an international hub for excellence in spirits. To this day, Herman Jansen continues that legacy, crafting Bandoeng’22 with the same attention to detail that has defined Dutch distilling for generations. A Dutch craft to be proud of!

Our own story is also deeply personal. With both Dutch and Indonesian ancestors, Bandoeng’22 reflects two worlds coming together: the flavors of Asia intertwined with the craftsmanship of the Netherlands. The spice trade was once a cornerstone of Dutch history, and today we continue that tradition in a modern way, not through raw ingredients, but through a finished liqueur that embodies heritage, flavor, and innovation.

From iconic names such as Heineken in beer, to Ketel One in vodka, to jenever and gin houses like Bols, Rutte, Hooghoudt, Bobby’s Dry Gin, Gin 1689 and Sir Edmond Gin – Dutch spirits are recognized and respected worldwide. Within that landscape, Dutch liqueurs hold a strong position in the professional bar scene, with brands like Bols and De Kuyper setting global standards.
