A Pandan B-52 Cocktail
The Bandoeng B-22 is a creative reinterpretation of the famous B-52 shooter, a layered cocktail that became popular in cocktail bars during the 1970s. Known for its striking layered appearance and rich flavor combination, the original B-52 traditionally combines coffee liqueur, Irish cream and orange liqueur.
In this version, the coffee and orange flavors are replaced with the aromatic character of Bandoeng’22 Pandan Liqueur, creating a smooth and dessert-like shooter. The combination of pandan, Baileys and aged rum introduces warm notes of honey, vanilla and cinnamon, resulting in a sweet and powerful flavor profile.
The Bandoeng B-22 is a perfect example of how classic cocktails can be reimagined with Southeast Asian flavors while maintaining the recognizable structure of the original drink.

A Pandan Twist on the Classic B-52 Shooter
The B-52 cocktail is one of the most recognizable layered shots in cocktail culture. Traditionally made with coffee liqueur, Irish cream and orange liqueur, the drink is famous for its visual layering and rich dessert-like flavor.
The Bandoeng B-22 offers a new interpretation by replacing the coffee and orange elements with pandan liqueur and aged rum. Pandan introduces warm aromatic notes often compared to vanilla, coconut and gentle spices.
Combined with Baileys and rum, the result is a smooth and indulgent shooter that feels both familiar and exotic.
Dessert-Style Cocktails with Pandan
Pandan is widely used in Southeast Asian desserts because of its naturally sweet aroma and comforting flavor. In cocktails, pandan works particularly well in drinks that contain cream, vanilla or caramel notes.
The Bandoeng B-22 highlights this perfectly. The combination of pandan liqueur, Irish cream and rum creates a layered shooter that feels almost like a liquid dessert.
For bartenders and home mixologists looking for a creative pandan cocktail recipe, this drink offers a simple yet striking way to introduce pandan into classic cocktail formats.
