A US classic reimagined
The Margarita traditionally consists of four ingredients: tequila, triple sec orange liqueur, lime juice and simple syrup. Often served in a glass with salt on the rim. The cocktails are mostly shaken and served either straight up in a coup glass or over ice in an old-fashioned glass. They may also be blended.
Our take on Americas favorite drink is based on the Margarita’s ancestor called a Picador (1937) which uses Cointreau for the triple sec part, tequila and lime juice. No simple syrup.
Adding Bandoeng’22 to these ingredients gives the cocktail a hint of sweet vanilla, almond and cinnamon. With a nice hint of pandan at the end.
