A longtime friend and our ambassador, Thomas Feld, bar manager in Cologne, Germany, recently invited us to host a masterclass on pandan for him and his colleagues.
In the presentation room of Motel One Cologne – Waidmarkt, where Thomas works, Bandoeng’22 founders Mariska van Beek and Marc Pieplenbosch introduced attendees to pandan leaves—often referred to as the “Asian vanilla.” They explored its diverse culinary uses in Southeast Asian cuisine and its modern application in cocktails with Bandoeng’22 Pandan Liqueur.
After the presentation, guests moved to the hotel’s One Lounge bar, where Marc and Thomas showcased the versatility of Bandoeng’22 through expertly crafted cocktails. Creative twists on the Irish Maid, Negroni, and Tai Mai highlighted the pandan liqueur’s broad range of flavors, offering the bartenders a unique tasting experience.
