Bandoeng’22 continues to grow its presence in the United States, with Nevada becoming an exciting market for bartender outreach, venue introductions, and on-trade development.
Last month, Marc Pieplenbosch traveled to Nevada on behalf of Bandoeng’22 and spent several days on the road with distributor Pacific Edge, visiting bars, restaurants, and retail accounts in Reno and Las Vegas. The trip was focused on introducing Bandoeng’22 Pandan Liqueur to hospitality professionals, building stronger local relationships, and exploring how pandan can find its place in the Nevada cocktail scene.
Bringing Bandoeng’22 to Reno
Reno may be known as “the biggest little city in the world,” but it also has a lively and creative bar and restaurant culture.
During the visit, it became clear that pandan was still a relatively unfamiliar flavor for many bartenders in Reno. At the same time, the response was full of curiosity. Bartenders were eager to learn more about pandan, its Southeast Asian roots, and the way Bandoeng’22 brings that flavor into a Dutch-crafted liqueur designed for modern cocktails.
Once introduced to our twists on classic American cocktails, many hospitality professionals immediately saw the potential of Bandoeng’22 behind the bar.
The Reno trip also included a special industry night at Rum Sugar Lime, where bartenders were invited to discover Bandoeng’22 through a cocktail menu created to showcase the versatility of pandan in a bar setting.
Exploring opportunities in Las Vegas
Las Vegas is one of the most dynamic hospitality cities in the United States, with a cocktail culture that goes far beyond the Strip.
In Las Vegas, Marc was welcomed by the VP of Pacific Edge Nevada, and together they visited top cocktail venues and retail accounts throughout the city. As in Reno, many bartenders were unfamiliar with pandan at first. But once they tasted Bandoeng’22, the interest came quickly.
Las Vegas proved to be a particularly strong fit for the brand. With the city’s love for bold cocktails and its strong agave culture, bartenders quickly recognized how well Bandoeng’22 could work with tequila and mezcal, opening the door to new and creative cocktail ideas.
The trip also included an exclusive Bandoeng’22 tasting event at Liquid Diet, where bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts were introduced to cocktails and shots featuring the liqueur.
Why Nevada matters for Bandoeng’22
Nevada offers an exciting environment for building awareness around Bandoeng’22. Markets like Reno and Las Vegas bring together strong hospitality communities, cocktail creativity, and venues that are open to new ingredients and distinctive flavor stories.
For Bandoeng’22, that matters. Pandan is still new to many US bartenders, but once introduced, it often sparks immediate curiosity and inspiration. Its aromatic, lightly floral, gently nutty, and softly vanilla-like profile gives bartenders something original to work with while remaining versatile in modern cocktail programs.
Building relationships in the US market
At Bandoeng’22, we believe in building strong personal relationships with the people who represent and serve our brand locally. Time spent on the road with distributors, sales reps, bartenders, and venue teams helps create the kind of authentic connection that supports long-term growth.
The Nevada trip generated enthusiasm, new orders, and creative momentum. More importantly, it marked another step in building Bandoeng’22’s presence in US bars and restaurants, with future opportunities in retail also in view.
