The Bandoeng’22 French

A sparkling classic elevated with pandan

The French 75 is one of the world’s most elegant classic cocktails. Combining gin, fresh lemon juice and sparkling wine, it delivers the perfect balance of citrus, botanicals and celebratory bubbles.

In this Bandoeng’22 interpretation, pandan adds a subtle layer of vanilla-like sweetness and tropical aroma. The result is a cocktail that feels bright and refreshing while offering greater depth and complexity.

Perfect for celebrations, aperitif moments and warm summer evenings.

  • 30 ml (1 oz) Gin

  • Cubed ice

  5. Top with Champagne or dry sparkling wine.
  6. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Taste profile

Bright citrus and crisp sparkling wine lead the cocktail, followed by delicate botanical notes from the gin. The pandan liqueur contributes hints of vanilla, fragrant rice and subtle tropical aromas, creating a softer and more layered drinking experience. Refreshing, elegant and highly approachable.

Why pandan works with sparkling wine

Pandan is often associated with vanilla, coconut and fragrant rice aromas. These flavours complement the fresh acidity of lemon and the crisp dryness of Champagne remarkably well. Rather than making the cocktail sweeter, pandan adds aromatic richness and texture, resulting in a French 75 that feels more rounded and distinctive.

The story behind the French 75

Named after the powerful French 75 field gun used during World War I, the cocktail became famous for its combination of strength and elegance. Despite its delicate appearance, the French 75 delivers surprising complexity and character.

Today it remains a staple of cocktail bars around the world and serves as an ideal canvas for contemporary interpretations such as Bandoeng’22 Pandan Liqueur.
