Bandoeng’22 Builds Momentum on the US West Coast
American bridge

Bandoeng’22 Pandan Liqueur continues to build momentum in the United States, with the West Coast playing an important role in the brand’s development.

During our 2024 US trip, we visited Washington and California together with our distribution partner Pacific Edge, meeting sales representatives, bartenders, restaurant teams, and retail accounts across several cities. The goal was clear: strengthen local relationships, introduce the story behind Bandoeng’22, and support the growth of pandan cocktails in key hospitality markets.

Seattle and Washington State

Our first stop was the Seattle area, where we visited accounts across Seattle, Ballard, Bothell, Greenwood, Tacoma, and surrounding areas. The schedule included both retail visits and meetings with bars and restaurants, giving us a broad view of how Bandoeng’22 is being received in the market.

At venues such as The Cottage, Bar Ruby, and Greater Good, we introduced Bandoeng’22 to teams that were excited by the flavor profile and cocktail potential of pandan. At Bar Ruby, Bandoeng’22 was already featured in a pandan cocktail, while other venues expressed interest in creating new serves around the liqueur.

The Seattle visit also included an event at Stampede Cocktail Club, where guests were introduced to Bandoeng’22 through a dedicated cocktail experience. In Tacoma, additional visits to venues such as Devils Reef, Wooden City, McMenamins Elk’s Temple, and Manuscript showed clear interest in distinctive new flavors and bar ingredients with a strong story behind them. The trip concluded with an Asian food and cocktail experience at Tyger Tyger in downtown Seattle.

San Francisco and the East Bay

The second stop brought us to San Francisco and the East Bay, where we visited a wide range of hospitality venues and restaurants together with the Pacific Edge team. This part of the trip confirmed that Bandoeng’22 resonates especially well in markets where diners and bartenders are already open to globally inspired flavors and modern cocktail experimentation.

In San Francisco, we visited venues such as Burma Love, Barrelhead, Blue Whale, and Wildhawk. In the East Bay, we connected with restaurants and bars in Berkeley, Kensington, and Oakland, including North Light, Almond & Oak, East Bay Spice Company, Co Nam, and Pizzaiolo. These conversations showed real enthusiasm for pandan as a cocktail ingredient, especially in venues where spice, herbs, and layered flavor are already part of the culinary identity.

Los Angeles

Our final stop was Los Angeles, where we explored both retail and hospitality opportunities across several neighborhoods. Visits to stores such as Cap n Cork, Bar Keeper, Remedy Liquor, and Vendome helped us better understand off-premise potential, while restaurants and bars such as Mirate, The Little Door, Piccalilli, Granville, Broken Compass, and Highly Likely showed strong interest in how Bandoeng’22 could fit into cocktail and dining programs.

What stood out across Los Angeles was the openness to new flavor stories, especially those that connect naturally with Asian cuisine, tropical drinks, and modern cocktail creativity.

Why the West Coast matters

The West Coast is a natural fit for Bandoeng’22. Cities such as Seattle, San Francisco, Oakland, and Los Angeles are home to dynamic bar scenes, diverse dining cultures, and hospitality professionals who are open to experimenting with new ingredients.

That matters for a product like Bandoeng’22. Pandan is still new to many US bartenders, but once introduced, it often creates immediate curiosity. Its aromatic, lightly floral, gently nutty, and softly vanilla-like character offers something distinctive while remaining highly versatile in cocktails. The West Coast’s strong connection to global cuisine and innovative drinks culture makes it an ideal region for building awareness around pandan liqueur. This is an inference based on the venues and cities featured in the trip report.

Working side by side with distribution

A key part of this trip was spending time with the Pacific Edge team and supporting them in the field. Building personal relationships with distributors, sales reps, bartenders, and venue owners remains essential to how Bandoeng’22 grows in the United States.

By telling the story in person, pouring the product directly, and showing how it works in cocktails, we can help create stronger understanding and more authentic enthusiasm around the brand. The original page states that the purpose of the trip was to build personal connections with Pacific Edge, tell the Bandoeng’22 story, and support the team in promoting the product.

A strong foundation for future growth

Looking back at this West Coast trip, one thing stood out clearly: there is real curiosity in the US market for new flavors and cocktail ingredients that feel original and relevant.

From Seattle and Tacoma to San Francisco, Oakland, and Los Angeles, Bandoeng’22 found a receptive audience among hospitality professionals who value experimentation, quality, and a distinctive story behind the bottle. That makes the West Coast an important foundation for Bandoeng’22’s continued US growth. This conclusion is supported by the page’s own summary that there was genuine curiosity for new flavors and receptiveness to experimentation.
