A unique fusion of cultures and flavors
Bandoeng’22 Pandan Liqueur represents a unique meeting point between two rich traditions: the vibrant flavors of Southeast Asia and the centuries-old distilling expertise of the Netherlands.
Inspired by Indonesian culinary heritage and crafted in Schiedam, the historic distilling capital of the Netherlands, Bandoeng’22 brings together the best of both worlds. It is a liqueur where Asian flavor traditions meet Dutch craftsmanship.
This combination is what we call a Dutch Delight with an Asian Twist.
Tribute to Dutch distilling
The Dutch have a long history in creating spirits and liqueurs. Schiedam, home of our production partner Herman Jansen Beverages (since 1777), has been the beating heart of Dutch distilling for centuries. From jenever and brandewijn to gin and liqueurs, this small city became an international hub for excellence in spirits. To this day, Herman Jansen continues that legacy, crafting Bandoeng’22 with the same attention to detail that has defined Dutch distilling for generations. A Dutch craft to be proud of!
The Flavor of Pandan
At the heart of Bandoeng’22 lies pandan, one of Southeast Asia’s most iconic and beloved ingredients. Often referred to as the “vanilla of Asia”, pandan is widely used in Indonesian, Thai, Malaysian and Filipino kitchens. The aromatic leaves are traditionally used to flavor rice, desserts and sweet beverages, bringing a unique fragrance that combines notes of vanilla, coconut, almond and fresh grass.
For many people with Southeast Asian roots, pandan is more than just an ingredient, it is a taste connected to childhood memories, home cooking and traditional desserts.
With Bandoeng’22, this beloved flavor has found its way from the Asian kitchen into modern hospitality and cocktail culture.
The Emerald Green of Pandan
Pandan is not only loved for its aroma, but also for its striking natural color. When extracted, pandan releases a vibrant green pigment that has been used for generations in Southeast Asian desserts, cakes and drinks. This beautiful color has become closely associated with the flavor of pandan itself.
In cocktails, Bandoeng’22 brings that same emerald-green signature to the glass. The result is a visually distinctive liqueur that immediately stands out behind the bar. In today’s cocktail culture, where presentation and visual storytelling are increasingly important, this natural green color adds an extra dimension to the drinking experience.
Pandan Cocktails Created by Bartenders
Today, bartenders around the world are experimenting with pandan in creative and unexpected ways. From refreshing highballs and elegant sours to modern twists on classic cocktails, pandan opens the door to a wide range of cocktail styles.
At Bandoeng’22 we collaborate with bartenders from different countries and cocktail cultures to develop unique pandan cocktail recipes. These creations highlight how versatile pandan can be in modern mixology.

A Flavor That Connects Cultures
Bandoeng’22 represents more than just a liqueur. It tells the story of two worlds coming together: Indonesian flavor traditions and Dutch distilling craftsmanship. By bringing pandan from the Asian kitchen into the world of modern cocktails, Bandoeng’22 creates a bridge between cultures, cuisines and hospitality traditions. It is this connection that defines the spirit of Bandoeng’22, a true Dutch Delight with an Asian Twist.
