Crowdfunding success: Spiced Tamarind Liqueur moves into production

Just a few weeks ago, we launched our crowdfunding campaign with one clear objective: raise enough capital to bring Bandoeng’22 Spiced Tamarind Liqueur to life. Today, we are proud to share that the campaign has not only reached its minimum funding target, but has already surpassed 161% of its original goal.

Thanks to the confidence and support of our investors, bartenders, hospitality partners, friends, family and followers, the production of Bandoeng’22 Spiced Tamarind Liqueur is officially moving forward.

 

More than funding

For us, reaching 161% is about much more than raising capital. It is a strong signal that people believe in our vision, our products and our mission to introduce remarkable Southeast Asian flavors to a wider audience.

Seven years ago, we launched Bandoeng’22 Pandan Liqueur through a crowdfunding campaign. What started as an ambitious idea inspired by our Dutch-Indonesian heritage has since grown into an internationally awarded brand available in more than twenty countries.

Now, with Spiced Tamarind, we are writing the next chapter. The success of this campaign confirms that consumers, bartenders and investors are excited about discovering new flavors and supporting independent brands with authentic stories and a clear purpose.

 

From idea to reality

Over the past year, we have worked closely with our production partners to develop the recipe, refine the flavor profile, finalise the packaging and prepare for launch.

Inspired by the flavors of Indonesian Rujak, Spiced Tamarind combines sweet, sour, spicy and subtle savory notes into a unique liqueur that offers bartenders and consumers something genuinely different.

With the crowdfunding target achieved, production preparations are now fully underway. We expect the first batch of Bandoeng’22 Spiced Tamarind Liqueur to be bottled in early September.

Shortly afterwards, the product will become available to bars, restaurants, liquor stores and consumers.

What the additional funding makes possible

By raising €80.699 (161%) through crowdfunding has a direct impact on what we can achieve beyond production.

The additional funding allows us to invest more aggressively in bringing Spiced Tamarind to market and creating awareness around both the product and the flavor category itself.

These additional resources will help us:

  • Increase horeca activations and bartender engagement
  • Organise more sampling sessions and tastings
  • Participate in industry trade shows and beverage events
  • Launch consumer-focused marketing campaigns
  • Strengthen export preparations in key international markets
  • Accelerate the international growth of the Bandoeng’22 brand

For us, the crowdfunding campaign was never just about producing a new liqueur. It was about building a platform for long-term growth and creating the resources needed to introduce tamarind to a much wider audience.

 

Building the future of tamarind

When we launched Bandoeng’22 Pandan Liqueur, very few bartenders outside Southeast Asia were familiar with pandan. Today, pandan has become an increasingly recognised ingredient within the international cocktail community.

We believe tamarind has the potential to follow a similar path. As one of the world’s most versatile and distinctive flavors, tamarind deserves greater recognition from bartenders, hospitality professionals and consumers alike.

With production underway and a growing community supporting the project, we are excited to help tell that story.
