Signature cocktail of Bandoeng’22 Spiced Tamarind Liqueur
The Bandoeng’22 Tamarind Rujak is inspired by the bold and layered flavors of Indonesian Rujak, the famous fruit salad that balances sweet, sour, spicy and savory elements in one dish. This cocktail translates that same flavor philosophy into a modern bartender serve. Tamarind, lime and cucumber create freshness and acidity, while rum adds body and warmth. Optional saline and peanut garnish push the drink further into culinary cocktail territory, giving the serve a distinctive Asian-inspired identity.
Complex yet highly drinkable, the Tamarind Rujak is designed as a true signature cocktail for adventurous bars and modern Asian dining concepts.

Inspired by Rujak
Rujak is a popular Indonesian fruit salad known for its explosive combination of flavors. Depending on the region, it can contain tropical fruits, cucumber, palm sugar, chili, tamarind and sometimes shrimp paste or peanuts. More about Rujak.
The Bandoeng’22 Tamarind Rujak cocktail captures that same culinary experience in liquid form. It is not a sweet tropical cocktail, but a sophisticated modern serve built around contrast, balance and depth. More about tamarind.
Bartender Notes
- Fish sauce saline should remain subtle and only support the savory dimension.
- The Tajín rim enhances both the citrus and tamarind profile.
- Crushed peanuts create a direct connection to traditional Rojak flavors.
- Works exceptionally well in food-pairing menus and contemporary Asian cocktail programs.
- For a lighter serve, the cocktail can also be lengthened with soda water.
